SP Tochukwu Ikenga, spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed the abduction in a statement released on Wednesday in Onitsha.

Ikenga noted that a joint security operation is currently underway to locate and rescue the victims.

He also reported that the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Nnaghe Itam, and the Deputy Commissioner of Police overseeing operations visited the site for an assessment.

The police are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the suspects and secure the safe return of the nuns, with more information expected to be released soon.
