Gunmen Abduct Leader of Governor Alia’s Community

Mr. Emmanuel Tor Yaji, the President General of the Kunav United Development Association (KUDA), was kidnapped by armed assailants on Monday in his hometown.

KUDA serves as the primary organization for the Kunav community, located in Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State, which is also the home region of Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia.

The abduction was confirmed by Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Catherine Anene, who reported that information was received at the Vandeikya Police Division regarding Mr. Yaji’s kidnapping. He was taken while enjoying time with friends at Tsar Mbaduku.

In response to the incident, the police promptly dispatched detectives to facilitate his rescue, and an investigation is currently underway. Anene stated that the police would appreciate any information that could assist in locating Mr. Yaji.

She further assured the public that updates regarding the operation would be provided as the investigation continues.
