National Committee on Political Sanity and Decorum, NACOPS, has slammed one Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi, who claimed to be the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for mudslinging a former Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

In a statement jointly signed by the NACOPS President, Oke Ndubuisi; National Secretary, Olayiwola Victor and the National Publicity Secretary, Usman Abba, they took the self-accalimed PDP spokesman to cleaners for accusing the former governor of abandoning political leadership in his state to serve as a personal assistant to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

“In the uncouth, uncharitable and unfounded piece, he claimed that Ugwuanyi has “reduced himself to a PA and he’s literally carrying bag for the FCT Minister”

“But the truth is that the Former Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Honourable Ugwuanyi remains a solid politician of a special class in the country’s orbit of partisan politics.

“Ugwuanyi’s traducers are only jealous and afraid of the robust partnership between Dr. Ugwuanyi and Nyesome Wike, the ebullient and performing minister of the FCT.

“Dr. Ugwuanyi, fondly called Gburugburu by his teeming supporters is a solid politician who brought a lot of development when he held sway as Governor and one of the pillars of the PDP.

“The man talking is not electable and has never been in an executive position or contested serious elections, therefore he is no match to Ugwuanyi, a quintessential leader.

“Ugwuanyi keeps, maintains and cherishes friendship and political relationship as a true christian who does not believe in acrimony, bitterness and rancour.

“Nobody can rubbish Ugwuanyi for his political links with Wike, which is as solid as the rock of Gibraltar.

“Those who cant keep friends or maintain relationships cannot call on those who can to follow their disconnected ways of bitterness, rancour and inconsistencies.

“Ugwuanyi remains a politician with class, unbeatable and untramelled political pedigree.

“His style of politics is robust and devoid of bitterness, rancour and political antagonism.

“These attributes sets him apart and places him on a different pedestal from the current polluted trend in the politics of Nigeria and the black race.

“It is therefore uncalled for and unethical for the so called National Publicity Secretary of a party such as the PDP to describe him as “literally carrying the the bag of the FCT minister”

“Former Governor Ugwuanyi and former Governor Nnyesome Wike have come a long way as they were both Governors and have built a solid relationship for over a decade.

“Ugwuanyi is one person who keeps and respects political associates and relationships as he cherishes social and political interactions.

“He is a man of proven honour and integrity whose close ties and partnership with Nyesom Wike is borne out of mutual respect.

“Their collaboration has proven to be of immense benefit Nigeria’s socio-political landscape and to humanity in general.

“Therefore no amount of jealousy or hatred that can sow a seed of bitterness and discord between Ugwuanyi and his closest friend and political ally, Nyesom Wike.

“Alhaji Abdullahi who made such a statement full of bile and bitterness does not know the worth of building and sustaining political friendships since unfortunately he has never been elected or participated in serious elections to know the value of true political alignment.

*His visible lack of depth betrays his infantile mentality in the political arena, making very visible his inconsequentiality.

“Who is Ibrahim Abdullahi to speak when political leaders of Nigeria are talking? What is his pedigree?

“If not that some unschooled political neophytes see the landscape as a space for all comers, Ibrahim Abdullahi would not dare to speak where Ugwuanyi stands.

“Ugwuanyi remains a towering political Iroko tree, too big and tap rooted to be uprooted or distracted by the infinitesimal, clueless, confused, visionless, mannerless Ibrahim Abdullahi,” the NACOPS leaders stated
