Groups of supporters have purchased and presented the Peoples Democratic Party’ (PDP) nomination and expression of interest form to the Executive Chairman of Zango-Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna, Hon. Francis Sani (Zimbo) for his second term bid, ahead of the October 19th Local Government general elections.
PUNCH reports that Hon. Francis Sani (Zimbo) become the latest PDP Executive Chairman who had the N1.200 million Nomination form purchased on his behalf by group of supporters.
The Council Chairman had recently declared to run for second term, having broke the jinx of one tenure zoning system that has been existing for decades between Zango Constituency and Zonkwa Constituency.
This was in fulfilment of the promise the supporters made last week to ensure the return of Hon. Francis Sani (Zimbo) because of his sterling performance as the Executive Chairman of Zango-Kataf Local Government in three years.
The supporters, said they made individual contributions to purchase the form because they are convinced he deserves a second term, having performed excellently under very difficult conditions in his first term, stressing their actions signifies their support, unflinching loyalty and belief in his style of leadership.
Some religious and top political leaders from the Local Government area took turns to speak on the need for Hon. Francis Sani (Zimbo) to return and continue with his vibrant and credible leadership that has enhance true democratic governance.
The Chairman, in his response, said he is overwhelmed by the show of love, noting that he didn’t know that his supporters had this secret plan to surprise him.
The Council Chairman assured the supporters that he had answered their call to run again, and their support was an encouragement to work harder and never to let the people down.
” I urged you to campaign peacefully, with decorum and civility because politics is about the people. He cautioned politicians to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship as they build up to the next council elections slated October 19th.
