The Zamfara South Unity Movement Forum (ZSUMF) has praised former Zamfara State Governor, Dr Bello Matawalle, for his transformative contributions to water supply and infrastructure during his tenure.

In a statement released on Friday, ZSUMF Chairman Yusuf Ibrahim Maradun lauded Matawalle’s leadership, highlighting his administration’s impact on improving access to clean water.

“His Excellency’s tenure was marked by a steadfast commitment to addressing critical infrastructure challenges,” Maradun said.

Under Matawalle’s governance, the Zamfara State Water Board received a consistent supply of water treatment chemicals, ensuring safe and accessible water for numerous households.

“This initiative reflected his vision for sustainable development and the well-being of our people,” Maradun added.

The former governor also spearheaded the rehabilitation and expansion of Water Board offices in Gummi, Kaura Namoda, and Talata Mafara.

He said ” These efforts revitalised water infrastructure, enhancing service delivery and extending potable water access to remote communities.”

Maradun described Matawalle’s tenure as defined by “leadership, vision, and compassion,” noting his success in tackling insecurity and infrastructure deficits. His policies fostered peace, empowered youth, and laid a foundation for healthier communities, earning widespread admiration.

Looking ahead to the 2027 governorship election, ZSUMF urged Matawalle to run again, citing his proven experience and dedication.

“Zamfara needs a leader like Bello Matawalle to build on past successes and chart a brighter future,” Maradun said.

The forum called on Zamfara residents to support Matawalle’s potential candidacy.

“Let us rally behind a leader who understands the heartbeat of our state,” Maradun urged, emphasizing the need for integrity and vision in leadership.

ZSUMF expressed hope for a thriving Zamfara, where clean water, opportunities, and dignity are accessible to all, with Matawalle at the helm to drive progress.
