The group made the appeal in an open letter addressed to the governor, read by Jibrin Adamu Usman during a solidarity rally in Nasarawa town on Saturday.

The political group appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to endorse Dr. Faisal Shuaibu as his successor in the 2027 governorship election, citing his impressive track record and achievements.

The group, comprising APC members from the 15 electoral wards and representatives of existing electoral units, believes Dr. Shuaibu is the most qualified candidate for the position.

“We have thoroughly assessed the political atmosphere in Nasarawa state and evaluated each aspirant, and we’re convinced that Dr. Faisal Shuaibu is the best fit,” the letter stated.

The group emphasized the need for the APC to maintain its zoning formula, suggesting it’s time for the western zone to take the reins. They highlighted Dr. Shuaibu’s extensive experience, from serving as a civil servant to leading the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).

Governor Sule is urged to endorse Dr. Shuaibu to ensure continuity of his good works. The group’s leader stated, “Dr. Faisal has immense experience, having risen through the ranks and successfully led various organizations.”

Dignitaries at the event, including Mohammed Musa Mohammed, Tijjani Adamu Barau, and Hajiya Bilkisu Ali Isah, echoed the group’s appeal, describing Dr. Shuaibu as a qualified and experienced candidate.

The event featured the presentation of the open letter to the governor and a 14-point request-paper to Dr. Shuaibu.

Dr. Shuaib, a former Executive Director and CEO of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), is seen as a strong contender due to his technocratic background and achievements in public health.
