The spokesman for the governor, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

According to Mr Dawakin-Tofa, the beneficiaries included 250 graduates of the Informatics Institute in Kura LGA. The packages included laptop computers, phone repair kits, and N100,000.

Mr Dawakin-Tofa stated that the gesture was meant to equip the beneficiaries to start their own enterprises, become self-reliant, and contribute to the state’s economy.

He stated, “Livestock Institute, Bagauda: 140 graduates received bulls, animal feed, veterinary medicines, and N100,000 startup grant. Driving Institute, Kumbotso: 250 graduates received driving certificates, support for driver’s licence processing, N200,000 each, and a N15,000 monthly transport allowance.

“Horticulture Institute, Bagauda: 200 graduates received water pumps, wheelbarrows, spraying machines, cutting tools, and N100,000 each.

“Fisheries Institute, Bagauda: 200 graduates received collapsible tanks, fish feed, veterinary medication, juvenile fish, and weighing scales. Film Institute, Tiga: 90 graduates received empowerment packages.”

The statement added that the empowerment “is designed to rekindle hope, restore dreams, and unlock the potential of youths to become self-reliant and productive contributors to the state’s economy”.

It explained that the institutes were originally established during former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso’s administration but closed by his succeeding administration.
