Ahead of the National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani has pledged his support for the state’s athletes to encourage them to win medals.
The governor expressed confidence that the state’s athletes would perform well at the National Youth Games in Asaba.
Sani, represented by the Commissioner for Sports Development in Kaduna State, Professor Ben Gugong, made this statement fielding questions from journalists at the closing ceremony of the SWAN Dr. Mohammed Maina Media Badminton Tournament held over the weekend in Kaduna.
“The state’s preparations for the state’s participation are in full swing as we look forward to surpassing our previous medal haul. We are confident because shortly, the athletes will enter a closed camp to finalize their training ahead of the NYG,” Gugong said.
“As you are all aware, His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani is a sports-loving governor who will ensure the proper welfare of all athletes to inspire them to win medals for the state,” he added.
While commending the tournament organizers and sponsors, Gugong said, “I must commend the Chairman of the Badminton Association in the state for his efforts in developing the game.”
