The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the theme of the 2024 celebration is “Enhancing the Total Wellbeing of the Nigerian Child through Quality Education and Skills Development” .

Fintiri, represented by Mrs Wunfe Anthony, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, said the theme of the celebration was  inline with the priorities of his administration.

According to him, to achieve that, government has decided to provide free primary and secondary school education in the state.

He said that to ensure the well-being of children in the state, he had signed the Child Protection Bill into law, hence the need for all stakeholders to support it.

Fintiri further appreciated his wife, Lami, for supporting and empowering children to have necessary skills that would help them in the future.

Hajiya Zainab Adamu, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, lauded the  Fintiri administration on steps taken towards ensuring protection and well-being of children.

While  commending stakeholders for their support, the governor  urged them to continue for successful implementation of the law.

According to her, the administration had also done well in the areas of women and youth empowerment as well as the fight against Gender Based Violence (NAN)
