Eyewitnesses report that the fire spread rapidly through the market which is a major hub for motorcycle and spare parts in the state. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

“We don’t know the cause of the fire, we just notice flame from the motorcycle shops, but the fire service is still battling to put it out,” an eyewitness told Channels Television.

At the scene, many of the traders and shop owners could be seen frantically attempting to salvage their goods but they could not succeed due to the rage of the fire.

Emergency responders from the Zamfara State Fire Service arrived at the scene shortly after the fire was reported and are working to put out the fire and prevent the flames from spreading further.
