The Federal Government has officially established 16 years as the minimum age requirement for admission into tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, during his address at the 2025 policy meeting of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Abuja on Tuesday.
The new age benchmark aims to ensure that students are both academically and emotionally mature enough to cope with the demands of higher education.
