Emetu said that the DRTS had also revalidated or certified 66,954 vehicles within the period under review, adding that vehicles revalidated included those with both old and new number plates.

He also said that within the period under review, the service had registered 870 vehicles in terms of change of category or change of use from commercial to private or from private to commercial.

He further said that the service within the period renewed about 104,562 vehicle documents.

According to him, while pre-registration of vehicles as at the period under review stands at 63,256, routine inspection stood at 13,716.

He disclosed that the service so far had four inspection centres which were located at Apo, Lugbe, Gwagwalada and Kugbo.

He said that these inspection centres have so far enabled the personnel of the directorate to carry out one of its core mandates of vehicle inspection seamlessly.

Emutu added that with the ever increasing population and traffic in the city centre, the service was considering opening more centres for seamless traffic management.

He further explained that the DRTS had within the period under review engaged in series of advocacy and enlightenment with motorists on traffic rules and regulations.

Emetu said that these efforts were geared towards ensuring sanity and efficient traffic management in the city centre for the benefit of the residents.(NAN
