Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has once again responded to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s invitation regarding allegations of fund misappropriation.

Sources indicate that the beleaguered ex-governor arrived at the EFCC office on Tuesday morning, accompanied by his legal team.

This visit follows a recent Supreme Court ruling which dismissed the states’ challenge regarding the constitutionality of the anti-graft agency’s operations.

Reports reveal that Bello personally drove a black Hilux to the EFCC office with his lawyers in tow. Speculation regarding his visit surfaced last week; however, inquiries directed to the former governor’s media representatives went unanswered.

In a related development, during the latest hearing concerning new charges against Bello before Justice Maryanne Anenih at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja, held on November 14, the EFCC requested an adjournment until November 27. They cited the ongoing 30-day period for the summons previously issued.

The EFCC has granted administrative bail to Bello’s co-defendants, Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, and has sought additional time for the first defendant to appear. Consequently, the trial judge postponed the proceedings for Bello’s arraignment.
