Evans Travel & Tours Limited has launched KBUG.africa, an Africa-focused digital travel intelligence and discovery platform aimed at helping travellers make better-informed decisions before, during and after visiting destinations across the continent.

KBUG, which stands for “Know Before U Go,” is built on the principle that travellers should have access to relevant information about a destination before embarking on their journey.

Speaking during the launch in Abuja, the founder and director of Evans Travel & Tours Limited, Evans Aguiyi, said that the KBUG.africa is the latest expansion of the company’s experience in West African tourism and cross-border travel.

The platform brings together destination guides, practical travel information, cultural knowledge, attractions, festivals, food, local experiences and travel planning resources to serve both international and African travellers.

According to Aguiyi, KBUG was born from years of working directly with travellers and seeing the information gaps they often encounter when planning trips to Africa.

Aguiyi said: “Africa is one of the most diverse and fascinating places on earth, but discovering the continent can sometimes be challenging for people who don’t know where to start. KBUG was created to change that. We want people to have the information and confidence to understand a destination before they arrive.

“Unlike a traditional travel agency focused primarily on selling tours and accommodation, KBUG.africa is being developed as a broader travel knowledge and discovery platform. The platform’s vision is to help users discover African countries, cities, cultures, attractions, festivals, food, local experiences and practical travel information in one digital environment.

“From understanding a destination and researching what to do, to discovering local experiences and planning a journey, KBUG aims to become a digital gateway for people looking to explore Africa. The platform is also designed with the African tourism ecosystem in mind, with opportunities to connect travellers with local businesses, service providers, experiences and destinations.”

The launch comes at a time when Africa’s tourism sector is experiencing increasing international interest, while digital technology is transforming how travellers research and plan their journeys.

KBUG aims to contribute to this transformation by creating a platform focused specifically on Africa and the unique realities of travelling across the continent.

Aguiyi believes Africa needs more digital platforms that tell the continent’s story from a deeper and more authentic perspective.

He added, “Africa should not be presented to the world only through the traditional images of safaris and wildlife.

“Africa is modern cities, ancient kingdoms, beaches, food, music, festivals, fashion, business, history, creativity and millions of people with stories to tell. KBUG is about helping the world discover Africa.”

The launch of KBUG.africa represents a new chapter for Evans Travel & Tours Limited, which has built its reputation around West African travel planning, guided experiences and cross-border tourism.

Through its operations, the company has worked with travellers exploring countries including Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire and other destinations across West Africa.

The company said KBUG.africa represents an extension of that experience into the digital space and is intended to complement its existing travel services.

Rather than replacing the company’s traditional tourism services, the platform is intended to complement them by providing a digital knowledge layer that can serve travellers before, during and beyond their journeys.

For Aguiyi, KBUG is ultimately about creating something larger than another travel website. The long-term vision is to develop KBUG into a trusted digital destination for people seeking to understand, discover and experience Africa.

“With the launch of KBUG.africa, Evans Travel & Tours Limited is taking its next step from traditional travel services into the growing world of African travel technology, with the ambition of building a platform that connects knowledge, technology, travellers and the African tourism ecosystem.

“Evans Travel & Tours Limited is a West African travel and tourism company specializing in guided tours, customized travel experiences, transportation, itinerary planning, visa assistance and cross-border travel across West Africa.

“The company works with international and regional travellers seeking authentic cultural, historical and immersive experiences across the continent. Know Before U Go, is an Africa-focused travel intelligence and discovery platform founded by Evans Aguiyi.

“The platform is designed to help travellers discover African destinations, understand local cultures, access practical travel information and plan more informed journeys across the continent,” he added.
