Emir Of Dutse Flag- off Polio Vaccine Campaign Targeted 1.5 Million Children In Jigawa

His Highness Emir of Dutse Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Sanusi has flagged off a special round of polio vaccine campaign targeted to reached over 1.5 million children in Jigawa state.

The emir flagged-off the campaign at his palace after personally administered the vaccine to some children, and assured the general public that, it is safe and effective.

He note that, traditional institutions will continues to pursue and promote anything that will enhance health, social and economic wellbeing of the people and equally go against anything not good to the people.

The emir called on parents to bring out their children for the vaccination to enable Jigawa state sustained the gained made in polio eradication thirteen years back.

While fielding questions from newsmen after the flagging off of the campaign,the Jigawa state Director Primary Healthcare Dr Sambo Shehu stated that, all nacessary arrangements was made for the success of the vaccination exercise.

He explained that, over 1.5 million children from 0-5 years are targeted for the vaccination and over 3,000 teams comprising over 15,000 adhoc-staff were mobilized for the exercise to reach every child across the 27 local government area of the state.

“The aims of the vaccination is to strengthen the immunity of our children against any possible resurgence of Polio virus which we eradicated put of our state for the past 13 year.

” It is a collective responsibility to keep our children and our society safe from this and other deadly virus, therefore we called on everyone to play his expected role for achieving the desire goals ” Dr Sambo stated
