Yekini Nabena, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has made serious allegations against Nasir El-rufai, the former governor of Kaduna state, claiming that he bears responsibility for the prevailing insecurity in northern Nigeria.
In an interview with the Daily Sun newspaper, Nabena asserted that El-rufai, reportedly considering joining the SDP, had caused significant turmoil within the APC and the nation as a whole.
“I recently came across information suggesting that Mallam Nasir El-rufai is planning to join the SDP. However, I eagerly await the day when we can present his resignation letter as he leaves the APC,” Nabena stated.
“It is individuals like him who have contributed to the problems of insecurity we currently face in the northern part of the country,” he added.
Nabena also expressed his intention to hold El-rufai accountable for his actions during the presidential primary election, and for his alleged attempts to destabilize the party due to his dissatisfaction with not being chosen as the vice president.
“I will remind him of the impact he had in Kaduna, in the country, and within the party. He may have felt invincible, but I will pursue him once he formally resigns from our party.
“If El-rufai decides to leave the APC, it would actually be better for the party. We will confront him in the political arena,” Nabena concluded.
