The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has handed over 753 duplexes, allegedly linked to former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor Godwin Emefiele, to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
The transfer follows a directive from President Bola Tinubu, who instructed that the recovered estate be completed and allocated to Nigerians through a transparent process.
Housing Minister Ahmed Dangiwa announced the move, emphasising accountability in the distribution.
The duplexes, now under the ministry’s control, are part of efforts to repurpose assets recovered from financial crime investigations for public benefit. Further details on the allocation process are expected soon.
