Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has called on the citizens of the state to avoid engaging in protests due to the current hardships being faced in the country.

The governor assured the people that the government at all levels is working diligently to alleviate these difficulties. During a multi-stakeholder meeting held at the Government House in Maiduguri, Governor Zulum emphasized the potential manipulation of protests by anarchists and enemies of peace. He urged the citizens to carefully consider the consequences and reflect on the path they choose to take. The governor acknowledged the temporary nature of the hardships and expressed hope for a prosperous future. He highlighted the government’s commitment to addressing challenges such as food insecurity, unemployment, and healthcare. Governor Zulum stressed the need for time, patience, and collective effort to achieve positive results. He appealed to all stakeholders to prioritize dialogue and peaceful engagement in order to maintain the returning peace in the state. The governor also recognized the importance of the youth in society and encouraged them to make their demands through constructive means. He emphasized the importance of laying foundations rooted in peace, dialogue, and mutual respect for a desired future. Governor Zulum appreciated the steps taken by the Federal Government to tackle issues of food inflation and availability of medicines. He urged everyone to reflect on the collective journey, sacrifices made, and progress achieved, while cautioning against allowing frustration to undo years of hard work. The meeting was attended by various stakeholders, including the Deputy Governor, Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Secretary to the State Government, security heads, religious leaders, and representatives from labor unions and other organizations.
