In a recent Facebook Live broadcast, former Niger Delta Militant leader Asari Dokubo vehemently declared that the people of Rivers State will fiercely resist any attempt to snatch Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s mandate.
Despite his past disagreements with Fubara and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 general elections, Dokubo distanced himself from supporting the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, in his actions against the Rivers governor.
Dokubo, a 59-year-old Ijaw nationalist, issued a stern warning, asserting that anyone daring to seize the mandate from Governor Fubara “would go down.”
He further alleged a conspiracy between Fubara and Wike to eliminate him during the election, revealing, “I was not a supporter of Sim.
Sim was even my enemy. He conspired with Wike to see that I am killed. I’m not dead, I’m still walking.”
The former militant leader affirmed his loyalty to his Ijaw heritage and Islam, emphasizing, “Anybody who wants to take that mandate from Sim would go down because I know my Ijaw people. You know our capacity very well. It is no mouth.”
