Kubeinje also ordered that the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for advice and adjourned the case until Nov. 11 for mention.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp John Iberedem, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in July at about 1:00p.m at Fatimo Lane, Iju area of Lagos.

Iberedem said that the defendant had canal knowledge of the girl more than once.

He said that the mother of the girl reported the incident at the gender unit, Iju Division that her daughter was defiled by the defendant, who is residing adjacent to their house when schools were on vacation in July.

He said the mother narrated that the second time the defendant had canal knowledge of the girl was when schools were in session this year.

The prosecutor disclosed that the mother had knowledge of it on Sept. 24.

He said that the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN)
