In a sorrowful turn of events, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, the esteemed former governor of Anambra State, breathed his last at the age of 85.

The lamentable incident occurred on Thursday at 6 p.m. within the premises of the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja.

The announcement was conveyed by Dr. Rob Ezeife on behalf of the Ezeife Dynasty of Igbo-Ukwu, the passing of Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, CON, resonates deeply.

Renowned not only as a former Federal Permanent Secretary but also as a governor, Political Adviser to the President, and Presidential aspirant, his demise marks the end of an era.

Born on November 20, 1937, Chukwuemeka Ezeife held the mantle of Anambra State’s governor from January 1992 to November 1993 during the third republic.

His leadership left an indelible mark, steering the state through pivotal times.

Transitioning into the fourth republic, Ezeife continued his service to the nation as the Presidential Adviser on Political Matters to President Olusegun Obasanjo.

His sagacity and counsel played a crucial role in shaping political decisions during that period.

The legacy of ‘Okwadike’ stands as a testament to his multifaceted contributions to Nigeria’s political landscape.

The Ezeife family, in collaboration with relevant authorities, will soon unveil details about his state burial arrangements. A moment to honour and remember a statesman whose impact echoes through the annals of history.
