In a distressing turn of events, bandits wreaked havoc in Adamawa Dutse village, Idon ward of Kajuru Local Government, resulting in the tragic loss of 11 lives and the incineration of 28 homes.

Most Reverend Matthew Man-oso Ndagoso, the Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna Archdiocese, didn’t mince words as he berated elected officials for their deafening silence in the wake of this calamity.

The echoes of tragedy reverberated through Adamawa Dutse village as innocent lives were mercilessly snuffed out, and homes reduced to ashes.

Despite the profound anguish and devastation, elected politicians remained conspicuously silent, prompting a scathing rebuke from Archbishop Ndagoso.

Reverend Father Daniel Kyom, speaking on behalf of the Archbishop, issued a fervent plea for governmental intervention and accountability.

He decried the normalization of egregious atrocities and urged elected officials to fulfil their sworn duty to safeguard the lives and welfare of their constituents.

Amid mounting concerns over escalating violence, questions lingered about the efficacy of existing security protocols.

Father Kyom underscored the imperative of bolstering security measures to avert further bloodshed, emphasising that mere rhetoric without tangible action would yield no respite.

In the face of unspeakable tragedy, the resilient spirit of the community shone through. Reverend Father Emmanuel Okpara reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to faith and solidarity, vowing to persevere in the face of adversity while calling upon the government to fulfil its duty to protect its citizens.
