A statement signed by CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, on friday 21st April, 2023 in abuja, CAN congratulated the President-General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, and the entire Muslim Ummah in Nigeria on the Eid celebration.

“We celebrate with you all and pray the blessings of God be with you now and forever,” CAN said in the statement, reminding the Muslim ummah to renew their commitments to God through peace, given and all forms of good deeds to humanity.

“The Ramadan season teaches us the importance of sacrifice, compassion, and generosity towards others, especially the less privileged in our society. It is important we take the opportunity of the holy season to reflect on the lessons of Ramadan and the values that it teaches us which is love for one another and mutual understanding for a peaceful society,’ the CAN President said while reminding christians and muslims that Islam and Christianity share a lot of good virtues in common.

“Ut’s necessary to use our understanding of the Holy books to promote inclusivity, and work towards building a more tolerant and egalitarian society for us all,” Okoh said while urging Nigerians to use the Eid-ul-Fitri festival to pray for the country, for peace, and for the prosperity of the inhabitants.
