The affected areas—Sabon Gari, Zaria, Chikun, and Kajuru—will see a complete restriction of movement from midnight on Saturday, 16 August 2025, according to a statement by DSP Mansair Hassan, the Police Public Relations Officer.

The measure aims to safeguard public safety, prevent breaches of peace, and ensure a smooth electoral process during the by-elections, the police said.

Only individuals on essential duties or with valid election-related responsibilities are exempt from the restrictions, the statement added.

The police urged residents to comply fully with the directive and to cooperate with security agencies to facilitate a trouble-free election.

Residents are also encouraged to maintain calm and conduct themselves peacefully throughout the by-election period, the command emphasised.
