The Lagos State Police Command has announced that Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the founder of the House on the Rock Church, has come forward for questioning over a viral video that seemed to show him holding a gun-like object during a roadside interaction.

In a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, the Command remarked, “No one is above the law!”

“Pastor Paul Adefarasin has arrived at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja and is presently being questioned by detectives who have begun an investigation into the case since a video surfaced online depicting the pastor with a gun-like object directed at another motorist while driving an unregistered vehicle.

The results of the investigation will be disclosed to the public.”

The earlier video shows Adefarasin grasping a metallic object whilst speaking to a passer-by who appeared to be filming him.

The footage has since gained widespread attention, with various social media users claiming the object was a firearm.

In response to these allegations, Adefarasin issued a message to his congregation on his verified social media platforms, denying that he was wielding a weapon.

He described the incident as a misunderstanding.

The cleric asserted that the object in question was not a firearm and that it was never aimed at anyone.”
