In a significant restructuring, President Tinubu and the Federal Executive Council have announced the dissolution of both the Niger Delta Ministry and the Ministry of Sports Development.

A new Ministry of Regional Development will be established to oversee all regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and North East Development Commission.

Meanwhile, the National Sports Commission will assume the responsibilities previously held by the Ministry of Sports.

Additionally, the FEC has approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy.

These decisions were made during today’s Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
