Responding to the unfortunate development, worshipers instantly carried out mob action against the perpetrator leading to his dead.

Confirming the incident, Sokoto State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmed Rufa’i said they were aware of the unfortunate development.

DSP Rufai however said investigation to unravel full details of what transpired had commenced and promised to keep journalists posted.

Recall that Shiek Musa Lukuwa was reported to have been threatened recently by a well feared hoodlum leader, Dahiru Shehu Maibarewa for alleged blasphemous words.

The hoodlum leader, Maibarewa had expressed dissatisfaction with the Islamic scholar thereby leading to speculations of threat to his life.

Maibarewa was said to have been taken to prison following the incident.

Few weeks after that, a video went viral on social media showing Shiek Musa Lukuwa going to his mosque with a pump action gun as warming message against any attempt on his life.

At the time of filing this report, Shiek Musa Lukuwa was said to be in a hospital within the metropolis receiving treatment following the stabbing.

Though, officials refused to disclosed the hospital where he was taken to for security reasons, sources however confirmed that he was responding to treatment.
