Convener of the Free Nigeria Movement, Moses Ogidi-Paul, on Friday raised the alarm about an alleged plan by the Department of State Services (DSS) to arrest him and level “frivolous allegations” against him.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that in a statement shared on his known Twitter handle, the activist said the DSS has perfected plans to accuse him of “calling for the subversion of Nigeria’s democracy by the military through call for the declaration of an Interim National Government”.

He said: “I have been reliably informed of plans by certain within the Department of State Services (DSS) to arrest me today, 31st of March, 2023.

“The plan is etched on frivolous allegation that I and my group, Free Nigeria Movement, are calling for the subversion of our democracy by the military through our call for the declaration of an Interim National Government.

“The authors of this plot are out to demonise the intention of our group, which is purely democratic and forged with the general interest of Nigeria and Nigerians.”

He added: “For ten days, today being the eleventh, we have led a peaceful protest without committing any civil or constitutional errors. I make this call to all Nigerians of goodwill to be on notice in the event that these elements within the DSS implement their plans in a bid to silence my voice and that of my compatriots.
