The BRAC Coastal Aborigines, representing Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states, have accused IPOB DIASPORAS of elements of fuelling Religious and ethnic tension and attempting to destabilise Nigeria through inflammatory rhetoric.

The group said the Ipob perception of poor leadership in the country should not be used as justification to portray Nigeria negatively or promote divisive narratives capable of igniting another civil conflict.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the group warned against what it described as orchestrated campaigns allegedly aimed at always discrediting Muslim leadership and creating fresh fault lines across ethnic and religious divides.

“Bad leadership should not justify tarnishing the image of our country, labeling Nigeria as a cursed state,” the statement read.

The group alleged that certain political interests were sponsoring hate speech and religious incitement, stressing that such actions must be condemned by Nigerians committed to peace and unity.

According to the statement, attempts to incite conflict through ethnic and religious propaganda could worsen existing tensions and lead to serious national consequences if not urgently addressed by political and community leaders.

While recalling historical grievances, the group stated that the BRAC states, despite their geographical closeness to the South-East, had no intention of aligning with any agitation for their Presidential ambitions or Biafra republic.

The statement referenced the 1966 rebellion led by Niger Delta activist, late Major Isaac Adaka Boro, and denial of the agitation of COR ( Calabar, Ogoja, Rivers State) staas evidence of longstanding political differences between BRAC States and the South East, yet unresolved.
The BRAC States, are being proactive not to be coerced into another BRAC and South East coalition, akin to being in Former Eastern Region with the Igbos.
be collateral damage to another Civil War.
The truth is our problem in Nigeria is absolutely not related to the South East and they can never be collectively addressed.
We may share boundaries with a lot in common, but we are distinct and peculiar with our rich cultural Heritage tracing back to 5000 years ago.

The group expressed concern over what it described as renewed conflict signals emerging from 2027 elections with a clandestine campaign to fuel Religious rhetorics, to invite foreign leaders to be involved in our internal political affairs, warning that recurring tensions were exhausting and dangerous for stability.

It further alleged that broadcasts linked to IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu were the root causes of present political and insecurity crisis in Nigeria , as he was consistently targeting hate speeches on Hausa/Fulani revered Leaders. claiming that such rhetoric had heightened mistrust and provoked retaliatory attacks in many parts of the country by renewed Terrorist reprisals.

The group urged Nigerians to embrace tolerance, respect ethnic and religious diversity, and prioritise peaceful coexistence for national development.
Nigerian Politicians should have fear of God .
2027 is not the end of World. Clandestine plots fueling Religious rhetorical arguments about 2027 to seek support from other countries will be a huge mistake.
