In a groundbreaking revelation, the Borno State Government announces a substantial decrease in out-of-school children, plummeting from a staggering 2 million to a commendable 800,000.

Amidst the grand inauguration of 27 Local Government Education Secretaries in Maiduguri, this milestone was proudly unveiled, accompanied by the distribution of 57 school monitoring vehicles, signifying a profound commitment to educational reform and progress.

Governor Babagana Zulum, spearheading this transformative journey since his assumption of office in 2019, highlights education as a core pillar of his administration’s agenda.

Initially focused on reconstructing ravaged school infrastructure to accommodate over 2 million out-of-school children, the state now witnesses a remarkable decline, marking a triumph in accessibility and inclusivity.

In a strategic move towards bolstering oversight and mobility, the inauguration of vehicles dedicated to Local Government Education Authorities underscores a proactive approach to monitoring and intervention.

These vehicles, meticulously allocated, are mandated for official use only, empowering authorised personnel to execute their duties with precision and diligence.

Governor Zulum, unwavering in his pursuit of excellence, issues a resolute directive to the Commissioner for Education, mandating quarterly performance reports for each education secretary.

Emphasising a zero-tolerance policy for underperformance, the governor affirms his commitment to efficiency and accountability, ensuring swift action against any deviation from the state’s educational objectives.
