For Barrister Kamoru Ogunlana, the new Clerk to the National Assembly, CNA is a perfect fit , as his appointment came at the right time towards resolving both professional and administrative issues at the National Assembly NASS.

His assumption of duty on 2nd , February, 2025, marked another turning point in the history of the National Assembly, NASS with a smooth transition that will improve the services of staffers of the Assembly, that will contribute it’s legislative hub towards smooth democratic governance in the country.

With on the job experience for decades , a draftsman, and laced with indepth administrative and legislative exposure, no doubt , his ascension will accelerate delivery of democratic norms, dividends of democracy and by and large staff development.

Ogunlana was appointed as Ag Clerk to the National Assembly CNA in November, 2024, after the expiration of the tenure of the outgoing Clerk to the National Assembly, CNA , Sani Magaji Tambawal as the 9th Clerk to the National Assembly.

Coming with a doubled edged advantage with a legal and legislative background along with decades of work experience, no doubt Kamoru Ogunlana will be determined to chat a new course at the National Assembly NASS.

With a well groomed staffers who are managing 109 Senators and 360 federal lawmakers in the House of Representatives , his determination to improve on the capacity and capabilities of the staff is not in doubt from his age long experience and expertise.

The event that led to the appointment of the new CNA was evidence that a new leadership has emerged at NASS laced with both capacities and experiences, that will move the National Assembly forward in the area of lawmaking, plenary, oversight functions, committee’s, among other functions of both the lower and upper chamber for the betterment of the country.

Having worked in virtually all departments of the National Assembly both at the green and red chamber, no doubt, the new Clerk to the National Assembly, CNA will bring to bear , his age long experience on the improvement and workings of the activities of the National Assembly.

Determined to work round the clock towards improving the success story in the National Assembly, NASS, Barrister Kamoru Ogunlana assumed duty on a weekend an indicator of a game changer , hardworking leader who did not take cognizance or discriminate between weekdays and weekends to take the mantle of leadership at NASS, but desiring to make a brisk positive change.

Kamoru soon after assumption of duty on weekend promised to revolutionise the activities of the National Assembly through the smooth management of over 4,000 staffers , 7,000 legislative aides including the major stakeholders of 109 Senators and 360 members of the House of Representatives with utmost frugality and demands of the nation’s lawmaking hub.
