The meeting attended by Comrades Francis Nwashi, Director of Logistics, Tor Solomon, Director of Strategy and Documentation, Alhaji Mohammed Usman, Director of Contact and Mobilisation, CP Ken Obiye (rtd), Director of Security, Comrade Adebayo Agbaje, Grassroots Director, Comrade Abubakar Sadiq Adamu, Director of Welfare and Jibril S. Zakirai, Director of Media.

They all emphasised that that the unity of Nigeria is paramount and cannot be compromised going by the labour of Nigeria’s past heroes like late Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dennis Osadebey and others.

“The history of Nigeria is built on unity. We are therefore occupying the citadel of unity called the Unity fountain in Abuja in order to continuously promote unity and oneness in the country.

Why an Adamu is comfortable in Ughelli today, Eze feeling safe in Kano and Adebayo relaxing in Warri is because there is unity. So far, we have lost out and derailed in embracing unity in the country hence this plan to occupy the unity fountain.

“We are calling on all Nigerians irrespective of class, religion and ethnic group to join us from the 2 of may till the 29th of may inorder to bring back our unity. We are very confident that this sit-out will wipe out disintegration and division in the country.

“Afghanistan, Syria,.Somalia and Libya have today become failed countries simply because they ignored unity. Nigeria we pray shall never be like them hence this occupying of the unity fountain. This occupation of the unity fountain will further reorientate, enlighten and educate the younger ones who are the future leaders of tomorrow’s Nigeria.

“Alot of interaction, playing of unity song, displays on unity and other remarkable atete atete will be showcased on that day. There has been insinuations from the quotas of some disgruntled elements that Nigeria is going to split and disintegrate which we in the United Summit Friends development association don’t believe in.

Our gesture will further bring back the lost unity as a result of grievances emanating from political lopsidedness. With unity, Nigeria can wax stronger and become the strongest country in the world against enemy’s expectation.

“USA,.UK, Germany and other first world countries are today developed because they embraced unity and Nigeria cannot be an exception. What peace fails to achieve, the possibility of violence achieving it is zero,” the group said.

The United summit friends development association said they have been in existence since 2014 and has organized a lot of unity related seminars in order to move the country forward.
