The Arewa Youths for Peace and Security has condemned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for allegedly insulting a military officer at Gaduwa, Abuja.

The group described Wike’s reported action—calling the officer a “fool”—as unacceptable and disrespectful to the nation’s uniformed men.

Its Secretary-General, Comrade Salihu Dantata Mahmud, said not even the Commander-in-Chief had the moral right to abuse a regimented officer.

Mahmud urged President Bola Tinubu to call the FCT Minister to order, warning that such conduct could undermine civil-military relations.

He recalled that Wike, while serving as Rivers State governor, had also clashed with security operatives in the past.

“Ministers must respect our uniformed men. Wike’s constant disregard for them must stop,” Mahmud stated.
