ONITSHA, Anambra – A total of 179 Communities in Anambra State are slated to participate in Anambra Broadcasting Service ABS/DSTV Shine The Light reality show . The winners will smile home with the sum of N20 million.
The show which is being jointly organized by the ABS /DSTV aims to discover talented Anambra youths and sponsoring them to achieve their life ambitions.
This was known by the Managing Director of the ABS Mr Cido Obidiegwu during a courtesy visit by the members of the Correspondents Chapel, Nigerian Union of Journalist at his office in Awka;
“This show is part of our contributions towards youth employment and apprenticeship programs in the state and the competition would take place in the 179 communities in the state”
“The talent show which is tagged Shine The Light reality Show would move to the twenty one local government areas and the best would spend 60 days till the winners emerge” he said.
According to Charles Chinedu Ndukauba who hosted the National Children’s Parliament season 7, the arrangements have almost been concluded with the DSTV for a dedicated channel to air the program for 60 days.
He stated that the sum of N20 million would be won by the best five youths who have distinguished themselves in dance, drama, singing among others .
Speaking earlier the Chairman of the Correspondents Chapel Chief Chucks Ilozue called for partnership between the chapel and ABS. He used the opportunity to invite the radio outfit to the chapel’s 2022 Symposium titled: ‘The Role of Media in Guaranteeing The Sanctity of Electoral Process in Nigeria’.
Ilozue also hinted that the symposium has as sub team “The Imperative Of Traditional Media in Marketing State Policies; Anambra state As a Case Study”.
“It is also our belief that this would mark a new dawn in the Chapel s relationship with your Outfit as colleagues in the information management business” he said.
