The Amnesty International Nigeria has condemned in strong term on the disappearance of Abubakar Idris popularly known as Dadiyata, called on Nigeria President, Bola Tinubu to take a MUST interest in the case of Abubakar Idris ( Dadiyata), and do what his predecessor failed to do.

In a press conference held on 2th August, 2025, at Dome Suit by Makblo, Kaduna State Nigeria, the Country Director Amnesty International Nigeria, Isa Sanusi stressed the need for government intervention on lot of people like home who have endured illegal detention, harassment and vexation litigations by state actors amid a wider crack down on freedom of expression.

These attempts have and continue to suffocate the shrinking civil space.

In his words ” six years is a long time in a lifetime, therefore, we strongly condemned the seeming disinterest and lack of effort on the side of Nigerian government on the fate of Dadiyata. Time is running out and the Nigerian government must do the right thing.

” The family and friends of Dadiyata needs answers not silent, where is Dadiyata? We need to have a search party out looking for him that search party is the government. His protection, and indeed that of all people in Nigeria, is the duty of the government.

The country director Isa Sanusi emphasis on government to come out in force in search of Dadiyata” the government obviously failed in protecting his human rights, Human rights are state obligations, his right to freedom of movement, liberty and any other rights he may have been denied, are state duties to protect.

Adding that, apart from the weak and weightless assurance of the police to investigate his disappearance, six years down the line. There has been no progress, nothing whatsoever! He added.

In his remarks, the immediate elder brother of Dadiyata, Usman Idris lamented on the way and matter her was taken away from his family ” my brother was taken from us in a manner that derive human dignity, he was ambushed and wisck away like a criminal, my brother is a gentle man, a lecturer, a father, brother, who uses his voice to speaks for justice, he was a bicome for hope, he is one of the north most spoken youth, who fight for truth.

 

” What has he done to be wisck away, dispite calling and we will continue to call for his where about, especially to the Amnesty International we appreciate all there concerned for this past 6 year, we beg them not to relent in the search for our dear brother.

Usman added that no family should witness what they are facing, in the wait for the return of theirbrother, they lost there beloved mother, who was hoping that Sooner his son will return to him.

Also speaking, Dadiyata Wife, Khadija Ahmed Lame , who spoke in Hausa , narrated her experience, especially his daughters, who have been asking of ther whereabouts of there father, the elders among have began to understand that her father is missing due to her emotions when ever she ahead tears.

Khadija is calling on the federal government, all security agencies to please come out invoice for the search of her husband, let them know his whereabouts, where’s Dadiyata, she asked , is he alive if yes where is he??
