The remains of the late billionaire philanthropist and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, will be interred in Madina on Monday, following the approval from the Saudi Arabian authorities. The deceased’s secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaidu, confirmed in a brief post on Facebook that the necessary clearance to transport Dantata’s body from Abu Dhabi to Madina has been secured, allowing for his burial in accordance with his final wishes.
“Praise be to God, praise be to God, praise be to God. Approval has been granted to transport Aminu Alhassan Dantata from Abu Dhabi to Madina. The funeral prayer will take place tomorrow (Monday) morning, God willing,” Junaidu wrote.
The process had encountered delays earlier due to Saudi Arabia’s work-free weekend policy, which slowed down the paperwork required for the burial.
Dantata passed away on Friday night at a hospital in Abu Dhabi following a brief illness, at the age of 94. On Saturday, a Ghaib (funeral) prayer was held in Kano in absentia, attended by dignitaries, relatives, and associates who came together to pay tribute to the late entrepreneur’s memory.
