The Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN) during it’s recent 2025 immunization scorecard validation commended Sokoto State Government for significant improvement in budgetary allocation and releases for health concerns.

AHBN who insisted that such a political will has the potential of not only improving immunization services but also  promote community health across the State.

Addressing participants at the 2025 immunization scorecard validation AHBN National Lead, Dr Aminu Magashi Garba said the recent release of 300 million naira from the Sokoto State Government to the Health sector has particular emphasis on routine immunization as well.

remarks, the Sokoto State Lead of AHBN, Umar Garba Khadi, who also chaired the session, affirmed that the Zero Dose Learning Hub plays a critical role in tracking activities, validating data, and improving evidence-based decision-making aimed at reducing the number of children who have not received any immunization in the State.

Also speaking at the event, Dr. Yari Sifawa of the Sokoto State Primary Health Care Development Agency (SSPHCDA) reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to sustaining support for immunization programmes. He emphasized continued collaboration with development partners and civil society organizations to ensure the sustainability of achievements recorded so far.
