A federal high court in Abuja has adjourned the assault and battery lawsuit filed against Tochukwu Ojogwu, the rapper better known as Odumodublvck, until October 13 and 14 for hearing.

The suit, initiated in November 2025 by Levi Ogbogiri (alias Kraziecent), alleged that the rapper assaulted him without provocation during a public event on December 16, 2024.

Ogbogiri claimed he was peacefully taking photos and videos when the incident occurred, resulting in assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and damage to his iPhone 15 Pro Max.

At Tuesday’s resumed hearing, claimant’s counsel Uchenna Ojembe informed Adeyemi Ajayi, the presiding judge, that his client, the sole witness, was present and ready to proceed.

However, defence counsel Damilare Adeojo requested an adjournment, citing a motion filed on November 25, 2025, which had been served on the claimant’s legal team. Adeojo appealed for time to prepare his defence.

Ojembe opposed the request, noting that the defence had previously secured multiple adjournments, and asked the court to grant the delay only on the condition of a N500,000 cost penalty against the defence counsel. Adeojo rejected the cost demand and pleaded for an adjournment without sanctions.

Ajayi urged Ojembe to extend professional courtesy to his colleague before granting the adjournment. The case was then rescheduled for October 13 and 14.

At a sitting in May, proceedings had been stalled due to the absence of the defendant’s counsel.

Ojembe had informed the court that Taiwo Akinsulie, Odumodublvck’s lawyer, was travelling outside the jurisdiction and would not return until May 31, requesting a new date in early June.
