Exactly a year after the passing away of the legendary musician and saxophonist who has waxed many hit songs, Orlando Julius Ekemode on April 14, 2022, a memorial concert has been scheduled to hold.

The memorial concert which is to kick off a series of events for his post humous celebration, will be done virtually by the Afroblackish Band, a dynamic band based in Osogbo, Osun State. Speaking on this, the Afroblackish band leader, J.J said, Dr Orlando Julius Ekemode has been a good mentor and father to me. The first day I met him, I knew him as a man that is passionate and ready to impart me with all he knows on music and advise me to go study music professionally to excell in my career.

Those encouragement led me to become a multi instrumentalist today and not knowing for me that I am going to become a musician and a composer. I started with Dr. Orlando Julius’ songs and I began to follow his steps and any time I think of him i celebrate grace in him,” he said.

Tagged ‘Afroblackish Live Stage’, the memorial concert to reflect the impact and legacy of the legendary saxophonist, it holds on social media platform.
