AFFIT, NCCE Launch Partnership Projects For Nigerian Colleges Of Education

The African forum for innovative teachers (AFFIT) in conjunction with National Commission for Colleges of Education in Nigeria flags off partnership.

At the flag off ceremony, the Nigerian federal government through the ministry of education has reaffirm it’s commitment to bridge in skills gaps in Nigerian educational sector through sustain teachers training infrastructure, investment and public private partnership.

This is through the national commission for colleges of education and African forum for innovative teachers who have formally sign a 5year partnership to enhance teachers and students capacity building.

In his welcome address, the director general (DG) AFFIT Dr Emmanuel Ogah describe the initiative to benefit teachers, students, lecturers and institution through training, scholarship, research grants and infrastructural support ultimately improving graduate employability and institutional rankings.

“For the student, the partnership intends to formally endorse NCE 2 & 3 as AFFIT students members with recognized credentials, continuous professional development and inclusive education”.

Speaking further, Dr Ogah said “we would still encourage and appeal to the government especially under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to encourage the teachers from what he met, let him do something additional, at least we believe we are under the renew hope agenda and that should reflect in the teaching profession too”, he emphasized.

Speaking at the event the minister of state for education Professor Suwaiba Said Ahmed represented by Dr Mrs Claris Ujam commended the NCCE and AFFIT collaboration describing it as a new dawn for African classroom, bridging the gap between education and unemployment will require concerted effort and cooperation from all stake holders.

” It is time to transform Africa’s education system into a springboard for prosperity, ensuring that no talent goes unwasted or goes wasted.

“I want to assure AFFIT and Standtall Africa that federal ministry of education is ready to and collaborate with you”.

On his part, the minister of state for works Hon.Bello Muhammad Goronyo who represented the senator for Sokoto central Senator Aliyu Wamako performed the official flagg off and launch of the project describing it as a timely intervention in advancing the nation education infrastructure.

“This is one of the most important program that will empower over 100,000 youths in entrepreneur, reading, technical education etc and offcourse, it will go a long way in repositioning the colleges of education in Nigeria”, the minister said.

Also at the event,the wakilin Raya Kasar Zazzau Alhaji Aminu Wambai who represented the emir of Zazzau said; “it will revitalize the profession in terms of training, advancement where it is happening in the whole world, Nigerians most especially teachers will develop”

The event witness some dignitaries which includes; Alhaji Aminu Yakubu Wambai,Wakilin Raya Kasar Zazzau, Rep Emir of Zazzau, Dr Barr. Felix Ogbaudu, AIG (Rtd), AFFIT Board Member, Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Honourable minister of State for works, Dr Mrs Claris Ujam, Education secretary and several others
