Staliley Nwabali, Super Eagles’ first-choice goalkeeper, will be between the sticks when Nigeria face Angola at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast on Friday evening.
The Chippa United shot-stopper was a major doubt after copping a knee injury during the round of 16 clash against Cameroon on Saturday.
Jose Peseiro, Super Eagles head coach, has kept faith in his men who started against Cameroon in the round of 16, and expects them to get a positive result when they face Palancas Negras in the quarter-final game at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
The Portuguese gaffer also stuck to his traditional 3-4-3 formation with William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, and Calvin Bassey to shield Nwabali.
Ola Aina and Zaidu Sanusi will be on the right and left flanks as wing-backs while Alex Iwobi and Frank Onyeka combo will boss the midfield.
The lineup omits Kenneth Omeruo, Samuel Chukwueze, Bright Osayi and Joe Aribo, who all featured against Guinea-Bissau in their group A last game.
Victor Osimhen, the current Africa player of the year, and Adesina Lookman will spearhead the attack.
The game will kick off at 6 pm (Nigerian time).
