The President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, has sent a goodwill message to the Super Eagles of Nigeria as they prepare to face South Africa in the semi-final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), later today.

Lawan, in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja,by Media Adviser
Dr. Ezrel Tabiowo urged the players to put in their best efforts and make the country proud.

He said: “I want to wish the Super Eagles a successful match as they take on South Africa in the semifinals of the ongoing AFCON.

“I am confident that the team will put in their best and make the country proud. We have all been following the progress of the Super Eagles in the tournament and Nigerians are impressed with the team’s determination and commitment.

“We know that the match against South Africa will be a tough one, but we believe in our team, as they have the talent, the skill, and the determination to defeat the South African national team.

“We urge you to go all out and give it your all. Make us proud and bring the trophy home. Nigerians are behind you. We are praying for your victory.”

The Super Eagles will face South Africa in the semi-final match at the Stade de la Paix Stadium, Bouake city, in Ivory Coast, on Wednesday evening.
