Adele, the award-winning British singer, has announced her engagement during her concert in Munich, Germany.
In a now-viral video, the 36-year-old was in the middle of her performance when she spotted a fan carrying a sign reading, “Will you marry me?”
She took a break to read the message out loud before turning down the fan’s proposal.
The ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ hitmaker said she could not marry the fan because she was “already getting married”.
“I can’t marry you because I am already getting married, so I can’t, but I appreciate it, thank you,” she said.
Her announcement also elicited screams of excitement among the concertgoers.
Though she did not reveal her partner’s name, many speculated that it is Rich Paul, her longtime boyfriend.
Adele has been in a relationship with Paul, the US sports agent, since 2021 but only confirmed it in a 2022 interview.
Paul is the founder of Klutch Sports Group, which has represented high-profile basketball stars, including LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and John Wall.
Adele was formerly married to Simon Konecki but filed for divorce in 2019 while stating that they would remain committed to raising their son together.
Their divorce was finalised in March 2021.
Adele is considered one of the greatest British singers of all time. She is the best-selling female artiste of the 21st century in the UK.
She has earned several awards for her craft — including 16 Grammy Awards, 12 Brit Awards, an Oscar award, a Primetime Emmy, and a Gold Globe.
