The national leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has yet to release or validate any list of ADC state party chairmen nationwide.
The party emphasized that INEC recognizes only what is submitted through proper channels after adhering to due process. They clarified that no comprehensive list has been submitted or confirmed by the commission.
This clarification follows a widely circulated statement titled “Coalition Update: INEC Confirms ADC State Chairmen Nationwide,” which falsely claims that INEC has validated a list of state chairmen for the ADC.
Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, the national publicity secretary of ADC, denounced the report as misinformation, allegedly propagated by individuals intent on creating confusion within the party and misleading the public.
In his statement, Abdullahi affirmed that to the best of the party’s knowledge, INEC has provided no such confirmation, either officially or unofficially.
“It is important to note that the process of establishing and ratifying state leadership within any political party is solely within the party’s constitutional rights. INEC recognizes only what the party submits through the proper channels after due process. As of now, no comprehensive list has been submitted or confirmed by INEC.
“We urge our members and stakeholders to remain calm, vigilant, and guided by official communications from the national leadership of the ADC.
“Let us remember that the strength of any political movement is rooted not only in its numbers but also in its discipline, structure, and commitment to internal democracy. The ADC remains dedicated to these principles.
“We advise the public to disregard the fraudulent list currently circulating. Any legitimate updates regarding party structure will be communicated through our verified channels,” he stated.
