The Arewa Citizens Action for Good Leadership (ACAGL) has issued a forceful condemnation of the recent protests in Nigeria, calling for a comprehensive investigation into alleged foreign involvement.

The group’s spokesperson, Saeed Sulaiman Umar, criticized the violence and destruction that tainted the demonstrations, which resulted in substantial economic losses in Kano.

In a statement, Umar revealed that ACAGL, having previously withdrawn from the protests due to fears of criminal hijacking, was vindicated as their concerns materialized.

The organization highlighted disturbing reports of protesters in various states waving foreign flags, suggesting potential external interference aimed at destabilizing Nigeria.

ACAGL has also noted that authorities have frozen several accounts linked to suspected sponsors of the protests. While this is a positive development, the group insists that a thorough examination of these accounts is crucial.

They demand that anyone found guilty of supporting terrorism or undermining national stability be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The group’s call for action extends to a broader investigation into the roles of foreign interests and their potential collusion with Nigerian elements. ACAGL argues that such interference breaches Nigeria’s sovereignty and threatens the nation’s unity.

In light of these revelations, ACAGL urges Nigerians to remain vigilant and united against both domestic and foreign efforts to disrupt national peace.

The organization reaffirms its commitment to good governance and the protection of Nigerian interests from external threats.
