In the heart of the Central Business District, Minister Nyesom Wike expressed deep concern during his recent inspection of the Abuja Rail Mass Transit Scheme.

Accompanied by FCTA officials, his disappointment echoed through the incomplete Abuja Metro Station and Kukwaba II Train station, highlighting both the pace and quality of work.

In a candid assessment, Minister Wike criticized the poor designs, emphasizing their potential disastrous consequences.

Addressing the lapses in security at the Abuja Metro Station, he stressed that these designs wouldn’t even be acceptable in the country of the project’s contractors, CCECC.

Wike, having presided over similar projects, expressed his discontent, stating that he wouldn’t have made promises if he had known earlier.

As the May 2024 commissioning ceremony approaches, he emphasized that excuses would not be tolerated, ensuring a hands-on approach to avoid potential setbacks.
