Abuja-based disc jockey VDJ Modi has completed a 72-hour non-stop performance in a bid for a Guinness World Records title, using the endurance feat to champion girl-child advocacy.

The event, named Mobi’s Mixathon, unfolded as a continuous three-day DJ set under strict technical conditions required for official record validation.

Speaking after the marathon, the DJ—real name Amaobi Udeh—said emotional support from family and local crowds proved decisive in sustaining her through the gruelling challenge.

“I thought about my mum, who stayed up all night on the livestream, watching and praying for me alongside my siblings. I also thought about the amazing audience at the venue and the energy of my city, Abuja. Their support was the fuel that kept me standing when my body was tired,” she said.

Beyond the record attempt, Udeh said her motivation was rooted in a broader message of empowerment for young girls navigating societal limitations. She noted that amplifying the girl-child’s voice remains critical in a society where opportunities are often uneven and aspirations prematurely curtailed.

“I want her to feel that her dreams are valid and that she can achieve anything. This marathon was dedicated to the girl-child message, to show that no door should be closed to her. I want her to feel brave enough to start her own journey,” she added.

She framed the achievement not as a final destination but as a stepping stone toward larger ambitions in entertainment.

“I see this as a beginning. Breaking this 72-hour record is just the start of a new chapter for my brand and my work. It proves that we can reach a global standard, and I am excited to build more from here,” she said.

The attempt was supported by sponsors Grayston Apartment and Suites and Kairos Hof Ltd, and carried out in partnership with the FAB Treasure Foundation to amplify girl-child advocacy.

Guinness World Records is expected to conduct its standard verification process in due course.
