Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has congratulated businessman and industrialist, Mr Thomas Akoh Etuh, on his 60th birthday, describing him as a transformative force in Nigeria’s private sector.

Dogara, in a statement to mark the milestone, said Etuh’s life at 60 reflected vision, resilience and a deep commitment to national development.

He said the industrialist’s career stood out as a model of disciplined enterprise and patriotic service, noting that his contributions had strengthened Nigeria’s economy across critical sectors.

The former Speaker praised Etuh’s impact in agriculture, finance, telecommunications and industrial development, describing his journey as one of the most compelling private-sector success stories in recent times.

Dogara particularly commended Etuh’s role in reforming the fertiliser and agribusiness sector, saying it empowered millions of farmers, revived rural economies and boosted national food security.

According to him, Etuh helped reposition fertiliser from a politicised commodity to a strategic tool for economic empowerment, reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imports and promoting inclusive growth.

Dogara also highlighted Etuh’s corporate leadership as Chairman of 9mobile, saying he demonstrated uncommon capacity to stabilise and reposition complex institutions during critical moments.

He said Etuh’s leadership restored confidence and trust in the organisation, reflecting depth of experience and sound judgement.

Beyond business, Dogara acknowledged Etuh’s humanitarian work through the Jennifer Etuh Foundation, noting its interventions in health, education and community empowerment.

“At 60, Thomas Etuh stands as a symbol of principled leadership, disciplined enterprise and patriotic devotion to national progress,” Dogara said.
