Troops from Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have successfully neutralised 10 terrorists and confiscated various arms, ammunition, and equipment during recent operations along the Gamboru–Dikwa–Marte corridor in Borno State.
This information was disclosed in a statement by the Media Information Officer for OPHK, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, on Sunday.
Lieutenant Colonel Uba noted that this operation followed a previous offensive in the Katarko area, where more than 50 insurgents were eliminated.
He explained that the Sector 1 troops of the 24 Task Force Brigade executed a precise night operation that thwarted a terrorist attempt to infiltrate Gamboru Ngala from the Flatari axis.
The fleeing terrorists subsequently encountered another ambush along the Dikwa–Marte road, where they were engaged and neutralised.
Among the items recovered were five AK-47 rifles, one PKT machine gun, three dane guns, two makeshift pistols, five AK-47 magazines, linked ammunition, motorcycles, bicycles, and a radio.
Lieutenant Colonel Uba stated that the military high command praised the troops for their bravery and reiterated its commitment to ongoing offensive operations aimed at restoring peace and stability in the North-East region.
