The Executive Chairman of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Engr. Joseph Bege Gaiya, popularly known as Lordbeckson, has been conferred with the traditional title of Matawalin Gorah by the Gorah community in Southern Kaduna.
The conferment, according to community leaders, was in recognition of his contributions to grassroots development and his longstanding ties with the people of Gorah.
Reacting in a letter of appreciation made available to journalists, Gaiya described the honour as both humbling and inspiring, pledging to use it as a call to greater service.

“With a heart full of gratitude and joy, I extend my deepest appreciation to the community that gave me light, life, and knowledge. A man is a product of his people, and I remain proud to be an illustrious son of Gorah,” he said.
He noted that Gorah, which he referred to as his “second home,” provided him with inspiration, guidance, and love that shaped his journey in life.
The council boss stressed that the title of Matawalin Gorah was not only a personal honour but also a responsibility to uphold the values and traditions of the community.
“I say thank you for your trust, for your faith in me, and for reminding me that one’s roots are the foundation of one’s strength. I will always carry Gorah in my heart and remain committed to making you proud,” he assured.
Political observers in the area noted that the honour further cements Gaiya’s acceptance among the grassroots, as Southern Kaduna communities increasingly recognise local leaders who demonstrate accessibility and commitment to service.
